What is Southerndoe? Who is Southerndoe?

I think I typed the first sentence of this post 14 times and deleted it. So I'll be honest...I'm not here trying to be an expert. In fact, I'm sure you'll find multiple spelling and grammatical errors. I'd rather you imagine we are at a coffee shop as friends and I'm telling you our story. ♥ So let's get started...

How do I define Southerndoe? It's not easy because she is still being defined... every day.... by you and me who call ourselves Southerndoes, wear her, share her, and love her. And I have never wanted to define her because I've always wanted her to be what you want her to be.

This is Southerndoe's 5th journey around the sun and she's shining brighter than ever! This season will be the most special season of all and we will share why. But before we do, we want to go back to our roots. We want to share the Southerndoe Story from the very beginning with never before seen photos and behind the scenes stories we've never shared. We will also be sharing personal stories from Southerndoes across the USA.

Southerndoe didn't get her name because we are trying to be another Southern or Country brand. In fact, Southerndoe wasn't meant to be a brand at all - she was created to be a lifestyle and a Sisterhood. Southerndoe actually started as a Blog and I was the Southerndoe from Florida writing it & sharing the stories of girls like me who love the outdoors. I made a couple shirts for me, my girlfriends, and blog followers to wear.

But where she grew from there was remarkable and it's because y'all wanted to take her there... and I'm so glad you did! Because it has been the most unforgettable journey I've ever had the honor to take.

Below is the first photo ever taken with Southerndoe on my mind. It was in a little journal on my desk during my lunch break. I had this idea but I didn't know quite what to do with it. I had always been taught when you have an idea to pray about and write about it.

So, that's just what I did... here is the blank canvas:

At the top is the first photo ever posted with Southerndoe on my mind. It was posted in October of 2013 on my personal Facebook. I was ready to share what I had been dreaming up for a couple years. I used the hashtag: #iamsoutherndoe ♥ Because I knew from the very start that defining Southerndoe in words wouldn't be easy... but knowing one when you meet one would be.
