Tell us a little bit about the Stoneking family:
Hello! I am Natasha and I am the gal behind Hello! Happiness. I am married to Jeff, mommy to Caroline (22 months) and Carson (7 months) and I am southern through and through. We call Nashville, Tennessee home and doubt we will ever leave. We love afternoon visits to the zoo, picnics in the park, vacationing at the beach, and quality time spent at home together. I love the little family God has given me and I am thankful for His many blessings.
What is it like being a mommy of two under two?
In one word...hard. I'm not going to lie, I've got to be honest. There are days when I am breaking down to have a quick cry because I get stressed out when both girls need my attention, yet it seems only one can "win" at a time. I know God won't give me more than I can handle, but sometimes I ask myself why He thought I could manage two under two. Then, there are the days, where they are so sweet to one another, and Caroline is the best helper, and I know it's all in His master plan. These two darlings are my world and I can't imagine my life without them in it...they complete me and I hope I can be a great mommy, first and foremost.
Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself during your 1st pregnancy or mommys who are pregnant for the very first time?
I would say to relish each and every moment of not only being pregnant, but time alone with your husband. I think I was too tired to take advantage of date nights and weekend trips with just the two of us, and now I look back and wish we would've done more of that. It's really hard to "date" once you have a baby because then you need a babysitter, reservations (usually for the early bird special), and then when you get home there is still work to be done to prepare for the next day. I would also write down memories in a journal as a special keepsake to give your child when they are older. Being pregnant has its ups and downs, but for the most part it is a wonderful time.
What are your favorite products that you use every day as a Mommy?
It's all about convenience, so for me, there are certain things I keep in the car to make daily trips easier...a few toys/books to keep CC occupied, extra diapers/wipes/blankets/outfits in a basket in the trunk in case we have an accident, snacks in case we are out and can't access toddler friendly food, and a weekly calendar to keep track of our crazy schedules! Other essentials to helping mommy with two under two would be coloring books/crayons, my iPad stockd with Mickey Mouse episodes to prevent meltdowns, and champagne for when you have a bad day ;)
When you find some "me" time, what do you prefer to do to pamper yourself or give back to yourself for all your hard work as a mommy?
When I have "me" time, I enjoy doing things alone...whether that is working out, browsing the aisles at Target, or sitting on the couch watching a movie, I try to rest up and/or relax and do things I don't get to do all that often. Time with my best friend or mom always helps, too!
How has you faith been there for you as a mommy and wife? Do you have a prayer that is your favorite to say or a Bible verse that you love?
Honestly, I have grown into my faith a lot more since becoming a wife and mother, especially. Not only do I think about my faith, but I think about my girls and how I want to raise them in a Christian home where God is talked about everyday. I want them to be involved in church and know it's an incredible place. We sing a prayer song every night before dinner that Caroline loves and then she says "amen" after it's over. I also say a prayer for them out loud each night during nighttime rituals, and I try to read at least 1 piece of scripture a day...I use the YouVersion app on my iPhone and it makes it so easy!
