Name: Alexandra Jeavons
Planted: Easton, Pennsylvania
Hey ya’ll! I’m currently a junior studying economics at Pennsylvania State University. I’m a member of a few groups here, a huge one being my THON group, which raises money for children with cancer. I’m a big outdoors girl, when it’s not too cold…I love reading, traveling, eating, and enjoying life!
Even though you’re a Yankee, what makes you a Southerndoe?
I have a love/hate relationship with living up north because even though I love the snow, I hate the cold. *cue frozen face emoji*. When I visit my sister down South it reminds me of all the things I love besides the pretty winters up here, like disney world, beaches, and family! And the South has that southern hospitality about it and everyone is so welcoming, one of the things that exemplifies a Southerndoe!
What Southerndoe product touches your heart?
The “Strength is Beauty” tee is my favorite. In today’s world, too much of the word “beauty” is centered on what we look like. Recently, I’ve tried to detach myself from that sense of beauty by wearing clothes that make me feel good and by wearing little to no makeup, except when I want to. The weight of beauty should be measured by our hearts, not our looks.
What are you being for Halloween this year?
I'm being a Doe! I saw the tutorial on how to do Doe make-up here on the blog and I was in!
What has been the biggest adventure in your life thus far?
My biggest adventure thus far has been my college education. I find it crazy to look back and see how far I’ve come, mentally, from just over 2 years ago. I have found out more about myself through these late nights than I would have ever thought possible.
Anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Recently I gave a speech for a class using this quote by Joss Whedon: “Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping... waiting... and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir... open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us... guides us. Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love... the clarity of hatred... the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd be truly dead.” Remember that with whatever you do. Do it with passion. If you aren’t doing something you love, why are you doing it? And above all, stay happy!
